Aspiring Performance Triathlon Club was set up in January 2014, originally as Stoke Mandeville Triathlon Club, by David and Louise Brown. David has been coaching since 2005 and has helped triathletes of all abilities achieve their goals. Both David and Louise have years of experience of working at management level in highly successful independent health clubs, and it is their experiences of high level customer care that they aim to bring to the club.

“Our mission has always been to support our members through a high level coaching within our club sessions. With coached sessions in all three disciplines of triathlon plus weekly strength and conditioning classes our aim is to provide a complete coaching package to our members. The majority of our sessions take place at either Stoke Mandeville Stadium or Halton Tennis Centre. We also make the most of training in the beauty of The Chilterns and Aylesbury Vale, right on our doorstep. You will regularly see us out running the trails of Wendover Woods or taking on some of the Chilterns toughest climbs such as Whiteleaf and Kop Hill.”

“Just as important as our coaching is the social aspect of the club. We are very lucky to have a fantastic group of members that race together and support each other. We also run trips to the Brecon Beacons every April and October for our members to train and socialise in a far less formal environment.”

I have been a member of the Tri club for almost 2 years. From day one, everyone was so friendly and really inclusive. There is a good variety of sessions and I have learnt so much about triathlon. It caters really well for the more serious triathlete and the part timer like myself. Thank you David and Louise.

I have been a member of Aspiring Performance for just over a year now and in my first 7 months I improved my half-Ironman time by over 45 minutes!!!  Fantastic support, encouragement and coaching delivered in a friendly club atmosphere.  There are numerous sessions to attend and you don’t feel like you have to attend them all.  Just do what suits you and your lifestyle.  I do, and it works for me!

So I have completed 3 Tri training sessions with Aspiring Performance over the past week. Two swimming and a cycle (turbo) session. Feeling it, but enjoying it at the same time.
But what an inclusive bunch of men and women, welcoming and friendly. Yes they’re focused on their training, but I feel included and encouraged to work at my own pace and am feeling an improvement in my swim technique already with direction from David.
If you are worried about joining them (us) then try it, you’ll find you fit in just fine.
